Please Don't Throw Stones but... I am new to Raleigh and would like to know where the best places are to buy outdoor holiday decorations, besides Target, WalMart, etc. I have all my indoor decorations but have to start over with my outdoor ornaments and love going "over the top" with decorations.

Thanks!!! Sorry for asking this so early but I want to get started early and buy a little here and there. I went to Costco today and saw some cool things there...

Sam's Club usually has some of the larger ones that you can't find other places - although not usually a huge variety.

Depending on what you are looking for - Party City might have some things other places don't.

No stones here, our area is almost 100% red clay. Sometimes maybe a snowball maybe thrown but been here 4 years and never had enough snow to make one to throw. So I would say your pretty safe here in the triangle. As far a decorations, A.C More, Michaels, Joann Fabrics have some also. Welcome to NC!

Come October, you won't be able to avoid Holiday "stuff" in every store; almost every "home furnishings" store (I'm thinking of ones like Kirklands, but there are more high-scale ones, too) will be decked out in everything imaginable. And yes, I second the craft places such as Michael's.

Great ideas, everyone! Now I have to get specific....has anyone seen the outdoor giant ornaments that you hang from your big trees outside? They light up and I would love to get some of those but back in California, I could not find them anywhere.

I think they carry those large ornaments at Lowes and probably after Halloween. If you want some lovely wreathes for your front door try Fairview Nursery on Holly Springs Road in Cary.

If you don't mind driving a few hours, Garden Ridge usually has the biggest selection of holiday decor. There are three locations in NC - Greensboro, Concord and Pineville (both are outside of Charlotte). IIRC they had those large outdoor decorations last year.

Christmas 365 store in Burlington. I've never been but I've heard it's nice,

The Peppermint Forest Christmas Shop (http://www.peppermintforest.com/seop/default.asp?s_id=1 - broken link) (in Pineville) is very popular here.

Lori,
I like to go to Morgan Imports. They have nice holiday decorations.
