I suppose one good thing to come of this horrible little mans hate is that it shines a spotlight on Johnston County and some of the views that I certainly find more prevalent there than I do in Wake County.

Well said!!! If you look hard enough into any policiticians' life it would be almost impossible NOT to find some skeletons. It makes me feel only slightly better that New Jersey is not the only state with corrupt politicians, or politicians whose morality is questionable (Jim McGreevey being outed for his gay affair, John Corzine not wearing his seatbelt and speeding in a state vehicle and having an affair, etc....)the list goes on and on...it starts at the top and works its way down throughout this state all the way to the bottomost elected official....

Lightbulb Sheriff bizzell, what ya think?

Fast forwarding, his brother gets a second DUI and conveniently the charging officer fails to show up for the court case and the case is dropped. Hmmm very suspicious don't ya think?

If these two incidents do not smell like a Good old boy network, I have no idea what does. I think this guy who calls himself Sheriff needs to be investigated.

As for the Hispanic comment, well, if he has a beef with illegals, fine, I'm all for it, but to call all Hispanics trash?!?! Come on now, it's time to step down. This kind of behavior will only cost you, the local tax payer millions. This is because Hispanics who are now or have been confronted by the Sheriff's department are going to sue and probably many of them will win. The ACLU is not setting up camp in your community. Not a good thing, because ultimately you pay for these racist law enforcement officials.

While I fully agree the illegal situation needs attention, calling all people of any race trash, as a public official is just not a good idea.

Carolina Cowboy Did you read my mind or what! In the year 1988, Tony Bizzell was driving DWI. There were two young women in the car with him. Natalie Lynn (20) and Tammy Lynn (22). He lost control and they were killed. I don't know about killing a driver of another car. Does that make three people killed by this man? What a tragedy!!! In my opinion, if you get behind the wheel of a vehicle, drunk, that vehicle becomes a weapon. How many people have gotten DWIs and wished that the arresting officer didn't show up in court? Wonder how you get to join THE GOOD OLE BOYS Network? I live here on bizzell Grove Church Road, right down the road from our fine sheriff. He has said that the crime rate has halved since he has been in office. Can't see it on this road. We've had our share of break-ins and vehicles being stolden right in front of our houses, while people were eating supper! I fear for my wife and children. No wonder he said he now keeps his door locked!!! I deadbolt my doors. And I've got a big dawg!

Ted Kennedy comes to mind when I think about driving drunk and killing someone...that didn't seem to hurt his career

Why attach this to the Sheriff. Many families have someone they're not happy to be associated with.

Question-
Do any of you besides the one time poster "fedupalso" live in JoCo.?

I do. I will say that in my opinion as far as enforcing the law goes Bizzell has done an outstanding job. I have had some personal dealings with him and he was quick to respond and did so in an appropriate manor.
I'm not saying that I agree with everything that he says or does. Do we really need to stone him for a few wrong remarks?

Oh, my. I must be behind the socialist times. All along I thought this still applied to the United States of America:

Bill of Rights

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
_______________

We all have this right. Heaven help the citizens of the United States when we are no longer allowed our rights.

Those rights extend beyond just the sheriff partner. He holds a position of power granted and intrusted to him by the people of this country and the government. If he is racially applying law enforcement tactics toward Hispanic citizens based on race and race alone, then he has violated that trust he was granted. His statement alone does not draw that conclusion, this is true, but an ensuing investigation will determine if he did or not.

You do have right to open your mouth in this country, you bet, but if you hold a position of power, be preapred to answer many questions if your mouth is pointed at one particular class of people.

So he has to account for what he said, as do many people who are in more "powerful" positions than his. But we never hear of their comments because they're stonewalled from public view.
I think he apologized for his comments, if I'm not mistaken.

Oh, and btw, if you want to examine those people in public office who have violated the public trust and have not upheld their oath of office, try looking at the entire congress, and presidential administration.
