My son is moving to Holly Springs and he wants me to move there also. Is it a place for singel retired people to live.

Depends on your mobility.

If you don't drive or have poor night vision, you may be tied down in a suburban area like HS.

A more retirement-friendly area not far from the Triangle is the "Sandhills" area in Moore county (about an hour SW of Holly Springs, an easy drive). It's the "golf capital of the world" and tons of retirees live there, not all of them "rich". Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Seven Lakes, and Aberdeen are some of the town names there. My dad and stepmother live there and are constantly busy with activities.
