Hello,
Ohio native here moving down for the next couple of months for an clinical rotation in Duke. I was wondering if the big ten network is down there? If not, are there places that play Michigan game on TV (sports bar?). Thanks for your help...wasn't sure how big college football is down there (assuming basketball is king?)

Looks like Rudinos in North Raleigh is the first choice, with Rudinos in Cary a good backup.

You will have no problem finding Ohio State and Michigan Games in the local sports bars in the area. Any decent sports bar will have all the top 25 team games on their screens. My old neighbor was from Ohio. He put a huge Ohio State flag on his garage door every game day! Quite often the Ohio games were on regular network TV here although he would occassionaly go to a bar to catch a game or two.

Basketball is King here, but only during basketball season. There are tons of football fans here as well. On my short street alone we have fans of the football programs from Michigan, Florida, Virginia Tech, Alabama, NC State, UNC, Duke, and ECU.

FWIW, I am a Michigan fan and get the Big Ten Network on Dish (DirectTV is also an option). The Alumni Club is meeting at Rudino's in Cary this football season for the games.

Tyr the brickhouse, next to Ben & Jerry's. I know that they are actively seeking to support other college teams besides NC State. They seem to have the facilities; 8 (10'x10') large screen projection tv's.

All depends if he is a Spartan (Michigan State) or a Wolverine (UofM). Spartan fans can normally co-exists with Buckeyes and vice versa.

Wolverines on the other hand..well, all I will say to that is GO BUCKEYES!

Agreed. Once college and pro football seasons come online, watch out. People around here love their football and it's more than most cities/towns as we have so many local colleges (NCSU, UNC, Duke) with huge team fan bases.

Compared to who?

UNC, Duke, and NCSU fans are not known for their love of college football.
