Has anyone used a Learning Disability expert that evaluates teens.
We want to find someone that will offer strategies and recommendations for school work and studying and not just diagnose.
Would really appreciate knowing of good experiences with this.
You might try calling the Hill Center in Durham (they're loosely affiliated with Durham Academy and located right next door to the DA Upper School Campus). If they're not able to help you, I'll bet they could put you in touch with resources. Their current big push is to build a conference center where they plan to hold more of their seminars for teachers. Evidently they have teachers coming from all over to study how to best help kids with learning disabilites. It's a place to start.
