Yep I use travelers through Geico also. Very good rate and multiple discounts.

It happens.

State Farm is very competitive for me on the house compared to what I am seeing here, and maybe a little high on cars, I think.
Multiline discounts help.
And, after 30 years, they guarantee me they will write a car insurance policy for me.

sorry to hear that, for me State Farm had the best rates, for my past history, zero claims, knock wood, and good credit standing, all attributed to the best rates with State Farm.

Keep in mind, if you want a true rating on an insurance company, review their ratings on claims. Afterall, this is why we purchase it. Insurance is a mute entity, until you need it. So Company A's quote is $20 per year less, but they fight you tooth and nail, harrasing you through a claim. Company B chanrges $20 more and they have a high customer satisfaction rating when a claim is filed.

Erie has very high marks for when a tragedy happens. They take care of you. This cannot be said for many companies. In my opinion this includes many of the big players. Geico, in my opinion might have fast easy to use website and customer service call center, but they stink beyond comprehension if you ever have to use them. State Farm and Allstate fall in the middle.

Remember, check their customer CLAIM rating, this will tell who and what they really are.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, CarolinaCowboy! We had a tornado hit our town, and two of our schools were destroyed....and....it was very interesting to see who came thru and who left there people hanging. Some people had money in hand the next day and some people (USAA) had to wait months to get any kind of money!!! I do have USAA for some things but not homeowners!!!! It is very sad isn't it!!!
