A cousin is being considered for an IT position there, and here I am wondering if this is a good thing - this is a non-profit org, and the economic conditions are hard. On the other hand, I have heard good things about the company - great working conditions, good benefits. Any feedback, anyone?
My husband interviewed there for an IT position last year through a recruiter. After the interview, he did not hear from the recruiter for awhile. He ended up taking a state job and carrying over his county time.
They just moved to their new digs in Brier Creek. I was given the grand tour (my company did a good bit of the financing). They did a great job on the layout.
What I found funny was that quite a few employees who were not big fans of dogs. Go figure.

I have a friend who works there, as does her husband. They seem to love it! And they also seem to love dogs. They have 3 of them. (They're in the IT dept.)
Well, the AKC has to keep track of a tremendous amount of data: registrations (individual dogs and litters), entries for all the shows and other competitions they run throughout the year (figure that on any given Saturday or Sunday there are 100+ shows or trials around the country), awards and placements and titles earned by dogs (like "Champion"), pedigree data bases, and so on. And data on breeders and registered kennels.
And they have a website and store and so on.
HQ is still in NYC, and operations are in Raleigh.
