Be careful with that Garmin.. I used it for my first drive home from NC to NJ and that stupid Garmin kept telling me to turn off I95. and when I didn't turn off when it told me too it was getting angry and then the nasty tone "recalculating". Then it kept telling me to turn off again, then I didn't know I turned off, then me and my kids got lost in downtown Baltimore. I should have never turned off I95. I know now. Be careful the Garmin is not always accurate. Print out mapquest directions just in case..

Have a safe journey.

We moved from NH (Londonderry) this past March. We visited in January during the harsh snowy winter in NH, and believe it or not, the snow followed us down! LOL. It was just a dusting here in Wake Forest, but I found it funny because it was like a monkey on my back that I couldn't get rid of! The funnier thing was that all the schools in the WF area were closed. We drove from NH and stopped half way in NJ. Fortunately, being originally from NJ, I have family there so we didn't need a hotel. Now when we moved down in March, we did the drive straight thru with 3 kids and a dog. I wouldn't recommend that to be honest. Not only was it stressful because of the kids and dog, but it is truly a long drive. I had to follow behind my husband who was driving a moving truck which was no picnic, but by the time we got here I was a very stressed out woman! Will never do that straight thru again!

just kidding about Portsmouth. Jeez. For us grumpy NH types from South Central NH...we envy Portsmouth.....the joke was more reflective of the folks in NC that always ask the question about Portsmouth and if I had to travel to Maine to go to the beach....jeez....ever heard of Lowell Beach, err, Hampton Beach....

Yes, and we even *grumpier* types from further north view anything south of Concord as really being part of Massacusetts. You "city people" are just so different from us!

Just a random question....are any of you familiar with Greenland, NH? We had friends from there in Apex. I think they said it was near Portsmouth and was apparently a very beautiful area. First time i've seen posts about NH in the NC board and they are hte only people in NC we ever knew from NH, and actually said a lot of southerners (from the deep south though I believe) were actually moving up there when they left!
