I guess it depends on where in Clayton you are going to. Google Maps says to take 70 to get to downtown Clayton. However, you've mentioned in previous posts that you are working in "Clayton/Smithfield", so that leaves a big area. I live off of Ten-Ten (1010) and if I was trying to get to I-40, I'd take 1010 all the way to I-40 (Ten-Ten becomes Benson Rd, and then Cleveland Rd) but that may take you farther south than you want to be.

I would choose Cary over Garner any day. Or even Apex.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this site and have found this forum to be very helpful. Recently, my husband applied for a job in Garner, NC. There were two interviews by telephone but we've yet to get the "green light" to travel to Garner. Our children are grown but one son who is college age still lives at home. We're interested in a safe, quiet neighborhood that would be close to work, colleges and shopping. Presently, we're in Alabama (neither of us are from here) and rent a home here. We pay $800.00 a month rent for a 3 bedroom/2 bath home (the house is 31 years old). We're prepared to pay a little more for a newer home in a nice area. Also, we're hoping the climate will be a bit cooler. Any information you can give us will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
