No one wanted the truck when gas was +$4 per gallon, but now that it's in the $2.9X range around town - I wonder if its worth putting a newer V8 truck back out there to see if interest in trucks has picked up.

I don't think anyone really thinks cheaper gas is going to last. We all got burnt before with low gas for awhile only to have it jump back higher than it was. A V8 anything is Virtually 4x bigger than need be unless your pulling trailers. 4 cylinders and less are the rage for now. Which is helping bring the prices down due to less gas demand! People consuming less and getting smaller cars sure helped bring down usage. Amazing how that works!

Your not alone many have large V8 vehicles that are now worth less than the wheels and tires their owners put on them. Hope your V8 sells! Good luck!

So why are you selling? Is it because of the cost of putting gas in it? If so, potential buyers are probably thinking the same thing you're thinking.

You have to do a cost analysis to determine if the the money you will save on gas will make up for, in a reasonable amount of time, the money you will lose on the truck. You have to take into account all the factors including how much you put down on the truck, how much you can get for it, how much you have to pay off (if you have a loan on it). Typically, switching to another vehicle to save gas while losing a few grand takes quite a while to pay off, and I would hazard a guess that you would lose more than a few grand. I have to keep my Tahoe, or something similar, simpy because of my needs for work/family so I am happy to see the gas prices dropping!

If your truck is a bling-bling mobile, you are probably never going to get good value for it.

If it is suitable for use as a heavy duty work truck, throw it on craigslist at a price you can live with. There's always someone needing trucks for towing or doing contract work, and it's always cheaper buying used than new. Worst thing that happens is no one is interested at the price you are offering.

You never know until you try. I just sold a Camaro in 1 day for almost my asking price - which was a hair above blue book. I didn't expect it to go so quickly or to get quite that much for it.
