It was originally on the other side of Capital Blvd near the golf course and was a group of buildings each with different type of fabric. I think they had a wider selection and more unique stuff before they moved to the other side of Capital.
Printer's Alley is good for upholstery and fabrics for home decoration. I think they actually will make your drapes and whatnot in house. Decorative Fabrics in Durham is by far the fanciest fabric store I've been to in the area, it's also for home decoration. I'm not sure if Decorative Fabrics is still there; I haven't been in about a year. Their selection was pretty awesome, though pricey.

I have heard that The Scrap Exchange in downtown Durham has lots of interesting fabrics. In fact, they just had some kind of fabric sale last Saturday. Missed it myself, but I bet they've still got lots of stuff for you to look at.
