Where exactly is around here?
Which facility gave you poor healthcare service? There are so many places to go I imagine some are better than others.

That's an awfully broad statement... what, specifically is lousy about it in your opinion?

Around here includes Duke Medical Center, Rex Hospital, countless clinics and patient services, more and more walk in emergency clinics opening everyday, big rehabilitation services facility opening up in Wake Forest in 2009. Heaven help us if that's lousy I suppose. As the others have said, some are better than others, whether that's between oranges and apples or hospital and Doctors. Research and pick the one that works for you!

I have personally found the healthcare in the triangle area to be top notch, and my family has unfortunately had quite a few experiences in the past 6 months. I have yet to have a bad experience with the health care system found in this area.

Would you please at least share your experience to give us a baseline to compare with? Without that I would have to say, it is just you.

I am associated with one of the premier healthcare providers in the area. At one point, there were 70 to 80 people moving to the Triangle region per day. With the economic/housing slowdown, I imagine that figure has declined somewhat in recent months.
But even so, providers of health care and many other services in this area struggled to keep up. As has been mentioned, many fine providers have facilities all over the place, and are continuing to add capacity to meet the market demands that have built up.
Will some people fall through the cracks and receive poor care/service? Absolutely. But I know for a fact that tremendous effort is being put forth to maximize care as well as customer service.
