I know there were posts on here before about free things to do. I'm looking for it. I think NRG posted on one of them with a bunch of things. I'll keep looking. By the way, have you found work? Here's one link: http://www.visitraleigh.com/visitors/free.php
Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee, Knightdale Baptist Church, 15 Main St., Knightdale, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. free hot dogs, hayrides, games, trunk-or-treat at 7 p.m. and lots of other fun activities in a safe environment. 919-266-2471. Halloween event -- 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Oct. 31, Wake Forest Baptist Church, North Main Street, Wake Forest. (Bring a can of food to be donated)
I forgot it's Halloween. Don't some of the towns have their own Halloween parties?
Drive out in the country to Maple View Farms. Kids cones are $2 or less. Last weekend there was horse and buggy there doing hayrides. Lots of rocking chairs on porch and big grassy area with picnic tables overlooking the dairy farm. Nice place to spend a little time relaxing with a cone.
The parade for Cary Band Day! It's a great parade with lots of bands (obviously) some community groups, lots of free candy, and hardly any crowds. Cary Band Day - Spectator Info (http://www.caryband.org/band_day/spectator_info.shtml - broken link)
We went to Pullen Park. It was such a beautiful day we just couldnt go to any indoor events.
I splurged $5.00 to get ride tickets for train and merry-go-round. Kids enjoyed that. While we were swinging a nice lady came over to us and asked if we wanted 10 tickets So off to the paddle boats the kids and wife went. Only 4 can go so I sat out.
Two younger kids rode the circle boats. Then we decided to give the remaining tickets to another kid that wanted them.
Came back home and played board games. Fixed popcorn and watched video.
All in all not a bad day just wanted something new for kids. But these moments are making memories I know.
Question:
Is it bad for us to want our kids to experience new things although it takes money we dont have currently?
