I've heard about this bypass, but I have no idea where to find it - is it showing up on any online maps yet?

We moved to Clayton a year ago. It's a great family area. We live in the Riverwood Golf area and I work for a hospital in Smithfield , Johnston Memorial Hospital, that is looking for an ICU director and also Nurse Managers for the Medical floor. Johnston Health.org if interested in applying. It's a small community type facility, but they are building a new hospital in Clayton.

Its off the other side of the beltline at Lake Boone Trail, I'd guess about 25 minutes with regular traffic.

Well, guess I have to chime in too!

I moved to Clayton from Raleigh about two years ago. We also rented a home, started house hunting one day and an hour or so later, we bought our house!! We LOVE the area. The schools are fantastic, the teachers are wonderful and our daughter is really excelling (she just bought home a straight A report card..had to brag, sorry, lol).

Anyway, I think you can notice a trend just through this thread alone..the people in Clayton are EXTREMELY nice. Very helpful, very friendly. Expect a few waves as you drive through neighborhoods. I recommended to a few folks on here to stop people on the streets (especially in the downtown area) and just ask them about sections they recommend. All of them did this and they said they got fantastic feedback! Not one person brushed them off, everyone stopped and chatted politely with them. They got alot of great places to check out, excellent feedback on the local schools and other neighborhoods they didnt even know existed to check out!

Its an over-all friendly town. Very family oriented and well kept. I highly recommend it.
