Hello All:
My fiancee and I are contemplating a move to either Raleigh, Charleston, or Denver in the next year or two (I'm from Colorado, he's from the east coast)... he is in business development, but has a portable job.
Myself, well, I have a BA in Marketing and have not been able to secure a 'real' marketing job in the five-years that I have lived in San Diego, CA. I have had a couple in the real estate industry, but those companies are no longer around
I have been stuck with jobs in inside sales, and I NEED to escape the land of cubicles and put my education to work...
I am currently working on a general MBA with hopes of landing a good paying, marketing job in the area where we land. We have been looking at properties and city demographics online, and Raleigh seems to be on top so far
In your opinions (which I GREATLY appreciate), how is the job market for a marketing professional? I know the current unemployment rate in SD County is 8.6%, which is horrifying... and a studio condo still sells for well over $200K. To get home from work, which is 11-miles away, takes 45-minutes on a good day.
These are just a few reasons why I'm ready to head east. Any opinions???
Thanks!! ~Laura~
