I am cleaning house and have at least 6 huge garbage bags of very nice kids clothes. I'd like to donate them to a place that gives them directly to needy families, not a place that would sell them. Is there such a place? Durham would be my first choice, but I will travel if they would go to the right place. I can't bring myself to donate them just for them to be sold again.
Also, if you know of a needy family with a girl who could benefit from lots of clothing, please PM me.
I'm not sure if they give anything away, but I take nicer stuff (clothes, knick knacks, old kids bikes) to North Raleigh Ministries - they re-sell at very reasonable prices and all funds go toward outreach and food bank. The zipcodes they give to are limited to North Raleigh though. Google north raleigh ministries if this link goes away. they are at the corner of spring forest and atlantic.
also, great place to shop for holiday gifts because you can get some awesome buys on very gently used items & it all goes to a good cause.
