Ignorance and certainty make strange bedfellows. Let me guess: you teach at a local community college?

Since economics is more of a hobby and not related to my research area, I'll take that as a compliment
Keynesians are like those annoying Trekkies you see around a Star Trek convention. You know they're seriously retarded in the way they express themselves, but also feel some empathy for their perceived certainty.
Anyone else noticing a slow down at your favorite places?
I went to Pipers Tavern in North Raleigh last night and had to wait for a table. Does this mean we aren't going into a recession? No, not really, but I'm still not seeing a slow down at the places I frequent yet.

Pipers Tavern is a local place. On the weekends, you will always wait for a table. Sometimes during the week, you'll wait for a table. This is a SECRET. You must not let the others know about it!!!
Has absolutely NOTHING to do with the US economy, much less the Triangle economy. But, when you're on a Bush-bashing roll, why stop with just economic faults?
The credit crisis was caused by Clinton/Greenspan bursting the dot com bubble (remember what fun that was in the Triangle?) with cheap money and continued by Bush/Bernanke to alleviate a potentially unpopular political position (any bought-and-paid-for Republicrat wouldn't done the same thing) and blew up another bubble. End of story.
It's comforting to see the pre-emptive alibis to explain away what will be a failed command and control attempt to stabilize the economy. It's similar to how history revisionists pathetically believe Hoover was somehow laissez-faire and FDR saved the day with massive government entitlement programs. But, you can't fix stupid.
Oh yeah, let's keep it local
You will NEVER convince them.....it's all Bush's fault. Always and forever. Even stuff that was underway while he was still governor. Now I need to say something local.....
