Neo-China's great, too!

Nope, Orient Garden's been there quite a while, as far as I know. It's in the Kroger plaza at the corner of Fayetteville and Rt. 54.

I have been to PF Changs at the Crabtree Mall location as well as the Durham Location. I prefer the Durham location, service was better, food tasted better, perhaps a fluke, because it is a chain type place. We had them on Long Island {Westbury NY} You shouldn't have any problems.

"super wok" in cary has the best chinese food in the triangle (authetic, not PF Chang style)

It is located at the corner of SW Maynard road and East chatham st.
You really need to get there early to beat the crowd on weekend.

Tacky, tacky, tacky to shake down your "friends" for "donations." Does no one host actual parties anymore, or are we all too busy or cheap?

I haven't ordered takeout from PF Chang's on New Year's Eve. Their takeout is fairly organized. I will have to agree with the other poster who recommended Pei Wei for takeout. The price is slightly cheaper and is a subsidiary of PF Chang's. I noticed that Pei Wei is quicker than PF Chang's when it comes to take orders.

If you go with either establishment, I would recommend ordering two hours ahead of when you want to eat on New Year's Eve and giving them a pick up time.

Orient Garden used to be pretty good. Their food seems greasier lately.

I went to a PF Changs for new years and actually ate in the restaurant. There was a huge wait of course bc we did not make reservations (this was the one at Southpark in Charlotte) that said I am a big fan of PF changs even though it is "americanized" chinese...I personally like it better than Neo China, the last time i went there everything was very greasy...I think its a matter of preference

I've got to say I really like PF Chang's szechuan shredded beef. No restaurant in the area seems to use or even know what a szechuan peppercorn is (grr) - but other than that, it's pretty close to the real thing.

Just cheap.

If I were to choose between spending $20 a head for lousy chinese food or $10 for a Luau New Years Celebration Extravaganza that rivals P-Diddy's White Party, I'd choose the later. But I have no friends, so your mileage may vary.

I love the honey shrimp. I honestly think Pei Wei's version is just as good, though. We did take out from PF Chang's last night. It's something we do maybe twice a year and I don't love Chinese, but it's definitely something I enjoy. I've never ordered take out from either restaurant in the Triangle, but I can't imagine that it would be an issue. I might just call ahead and ask them what time should you order it if you want to pick it up at a certain time.

Good grief, can't people enjoy a few days a year w/o worrying about calories?

Having parents from Manhattan, we've also been in the search for the perfect Dim Sum, and we've found it at Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant (NOT buffet!!) on Guess Rd. in Durham. Get there early for a seat, because it gets PACKED with Chinese people (always a good sign).

Not a big fan of P F Chang's, needless to say.

Here are our other recommendations in the Durham-Chapel Hill area:
Lime and Basil for Pho
Vit Gol for Soondooboo
Chosun Ok for Korean BBQ
Oishii for Japanese (maybe not the most authentic, but the yummiest)

Sorry if this post sounds arrogant -- we've really put a LOT of thought into our top Asian restaurant picks and we like to think that we know our stuff My uncle speaks elementary Korean from all the time he has spent in Korean restaurants, to give you some idea.
