Trali at Brier Creek is really good. Its the first time in my life I've been called "lass".

Also if you do come to this area and enjoy hiking, then I highly recommend taking a trip out to Grandfather mountain. Its one of the best hikes around.

I don't think the triangle area is touristy so I don't see many visiting except for business and school. But it is centrally located so its easy to take weekend trips to enjoy the coast, mountains, virginia, sc, etc.

Ok thanks for the input guys, sounds pretty good to me. Just on the nightlife point, does the fact that all the students leave for the summer mean the people out in the bars and clubs during summer are a bit older? Say like 25 and upwards. Cause i'll only be 22 and would be hoping for a healthy crowd of ppl my age?

Not to be discouraging to someone from Ireland (spent my honeymoon there), but as a Chapel Hill native, I'd suggest Wilmington in the summer over Chapel Hill. Chapel Hill doesn't have a lot for outsiders to do. If you enjoy the beach, Wilmington is really fun. If not, and if you haven't been to the States, I'd strongly suggest Washington D.C. - it's a great city to visit.
