I am formally from Raleigh, NC. My father and mother are buried in a cemetery and I cant think of its name.
Its located on what was called 40 years ago as Raleigh-Durham Hwy. As you left Raleigh going towards the airport, it was on the left about 5 or so miles out of town. I was thinking that it had 'memorial garden' in the name. I could be wrong on the name.
Thank you. I dont mean to disbelieve you but according to the description on the internet it must be another cemetery. It was between Raleigh and the airport. When you got to the cemetery you had to climb a small hill.
Now I could be wrong. It could have been on the right. But I believe that there were 2 cemeteries not too far from each other. one on the right and one on the left.
I was born at rex hospital 42 years ago. Raleigh Memorial Park is on the left on Glenwood Ave(the old durham highway) between Duraleigh and Lynn Road. This is if you are heading west towards the airport.
That is the one, and there is a hill to climb on almost all sides with a plateau at the top.
This must be the one.
I went to the site but did not see my families name. But I see that they dont have all the names listed.
I haven't been back to Raleigh in 36 years. Boy, how time flies.
