I am a native southerner and that stereotype is completely contrary to my experience; maybe it was true a generation ago. Does everybody else in the country wait to get married until they are 45? I am a 31 yo woman and never married. Nobody I have ever met here finds that remarkable at all. I know many people my age and older who have never married along with many who have. The youngest of my friends to get married was married when she was 24. There are many quality people here, but don't come south expecting every guy or girl you meet to be ready for the alter!

Single people are in every town, city and state. In simple words, single people are EVERYWHERE. There is no one place where to meet one. To answer your question regarding good places to get "not single" is anywhere outside of your home of course. Go out, join groups that interest you, take fun part-time jobs, volunteer, take classes, travel, always be happy and look good..sooner or later, someone will notice.

And, for me personally, I want to be somewhere with others who remain single by choice instead of by unfortunate circumstance.
To that end, I feel just fine in my part of Raleigh as I do in my part of Miami Beach. I also seek out activities that don't necessarily focus on finding a way to make me NOT single.
Is your part of Raleigh a particular area or neighborhood? Because this is what I am looking for.
