I accepted a position in Goldsboro and would prefer to live in Wake County. I did a search and found a thread saying it was an "easy drive" but that was over a year old and I know traffic patterns change.

Does anyone make this commute frequently enough to comment?

Any particular little towns/developments (still inside Wake County) that I should consider over the next week?

I'm only looking to rent, not buy, I'm late 20's and single, professional. I don't mind living far from work as I don't like living in the same area as my clients BUT I don't want to spend more than about an hour on the road each way.

Thanks in advance. Happy New Year.

Try Zebulon. It is the town furthest east in Wake County.

Default Zebulon...Knightdale..

I have commuted to both raleigh and zebulon. Zebulon is a nice town that Is "coming to life" It all depends on what you are looking for in a city.
If you are looking to hang out and have fun but "leave the party at the party" then I would suggest knightdale, it is 15mins away from zebulon, and less than 10 mins away from the beltline. If you prefer a quiet time at home and leave the hustle and bustle of a 9-5 than I would deff pick zebulon. Its all up to you, your likes and dislikes. Hope you find what u are lookn 4.
oh yeah garner is also nice

Default Commute to Goldsboro

My hubby commutes to Goldsboro from Renaissance Park in South Raleigh. It is about an hour but is a straight shot. He goes through Garner (Wake County) and Clayton (Johson County) along the way. The new 70 makes for an easier commute.
