I'm curious to know where you set your thermostat at this time of year and where you are from originally. I'm curious to know if northerners tolerate colder temperatures inside.
I'm also wondering if I'm the one who is crazy in my household for thinking that 64-66 is too darn cold to keep a house!!
69/70 ... on the floor we are on. We have a programmable thermostat and keep downstairs colder at night and upstairs colder during the day. We have small children who don't keep their blankets on, so we don't go any colder at night.
I'm from here, but lived in MN for about 10 years. If I hadn't lived there, it would be higher.
My house isn't very well balanced between the first and second floors, so I turn down the thermostat to 60 at night. During the day I'm going with 67-68, and wear extra layers of clothes. Or use a heated throw, which is what I have on my lap right now. I'm thinking of getting a space heater as well. The house has very drafty old windows, and I'd just be throwing money away at this point if I tried to warm up the whole place.
off when at work, 68 when home, 62 when sleeping. i am from the north and dont mind the cold. its the wife who complains.
It's the opposite in my house. I'm the one who prefers those settings. Hubby would rather have it higher. Here my kids sleep with their fans on even in the winter. Our old house in Portland was very drafty (even after spending a bunch of money to replace windows, add insulation, etc). So we got use to sleeping in the cold... well all of us except my husband.
I was keeping it around 72 until I got my gas bill for last month lol. I think we are going to try 69 on for size
