Hi, I'm trying to find a nice (sit down) place to eat breakfast on a weekend morning in the Fuquay/Holly Springs area. I would prefer something locally owned. It seems like the only things around here are places like Waffle House, Biscuitville, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Briggs is by far the best breakfast place in the Triangle. The closest us (I live in HS too) is in Cary. Can't be beat!

brigs is highly overrated... it was ok, w/ mediocre service. I think there's just not enuf nice breakfast places around.
I think Mimi's in Cary is wonderful b/c it's decor is different and pleasant, the waitstaff mostly are attentive and the food is consistently good. Omelettes are interesting w/not the usual heart attack on a plate options. Plus their fresh baked muffins and fresh juices are delicious. An added bonus is if you bring kids, they've ingeniously decided to right away bring out a plate w/ Cheerios, orange slices and crackers to keep the little ones busy- great!

I know I have said this before in another thread, but Briggs is soooo expensive! We were also turned off by the dirty silverware, but I've heard they've gotten a new dishwasher since we were there (daughter's boyfriend ).
