It's High Point -- not Raleigh. But I have heard it's not what it used to be.

I've gotten stuff at Furniture Showcase on Glenwood in the past and love it. They were in the location where Kirks Imports is now, but they moved about a mile away on Glenwood. Haven't been to the new location.

Order thru IKEA's website. They have low prices and cheap shipping cost.

Craigs' List, WRAL classifieds, Kijiji.com and other online classifieds for used furniture.

As far as new goes... I think that I heard that Ikea is coming to the Charlotte area soon?

Might also try the Highpoint Furniture store that's at the Newton Grove exit off I-40 (east of Raleigh). Typical wearhouse set up of all types of furniture. Lots of living room sets. They've generally got great prices. We bought a while back and the owner was there and we were able to make an offer (ended up getting several hundred more off the price). One important note, if you see it and like it... don't leave and think that you'll come back and get it. We've missed out on things that we loved a couple times now. They really move a lot of furniture through that store. I'm pretty sure that they deliver if you don't have truck/trailer. If you purchase, they will hold for you to come back and pick up later.
