So I get back from a vacation away to find three inches or so of snow which fell Tuesday morning. And apparently that's enough to cause the Chapel Hill-Carrboro school district to cancel school on Wednesday! Yikes -- what wimps!

Seriously, that's stunning. I'm speechless. It's three inches. It's easy to shovel. There was no school today (teachers' workday, which was cancelled), so it's not like attention was diverted by scholastic endeavors today. And no school Wednesday. Gee, I hope they can figure out some way to open school on Thursday despite this awful awful weather.

Which brings me to my main question. Is there a good hill to sled on in the vicinity of Chapel Hill? I'm not interested in driving long distances, but it'd be something that the kids would enjoy. They've missed out on lots of great sledding at our previous home up north. Thanks!

Tadley Rd is the best sledding hill in the area.

Great, thanks! I presume you mean here? Is it obvious just where to go?

Yes, but start at the top near Ridgecrest, and hold on tight!
