Chapel Hill has several music clubs. The most famous is Cat's Cradle-- actually in Carrboro-- and they have a great show Saturday night: the Annuals out of Raleigh. Local 506 is another great venue to check out if she's into listening to bands live.

Each week Indyweek.com puts out a helpful guide to the best of local entertainment options:

Also Elmo's on 9th street... Very much a Duke vibe there. (And pretty good shrimp and grits!"

Go for a meal in the Bryan Center. If the elevator is open in the chapel, take a ride to the top of the Chapel Tower. Walk around Duke Gardens. Walk around West Campus. Walk around East Campus. Walk around Central Campus. It isn't a short visit if you really want to cover the whole campus. Check out the Nasher Art Museum. Check out some of the activities on campus here: Events@Duke

Then go over to 9th Street and eat again. Have some sweets at Mad Hatters or Francesca's. Have brunch at Elmo's Diner.
What a great post. These suggestions are perfect.
