I live in Cary and want to find a great dentist! Someone who's experienced, very up to date in latest techniques, very clean/safety conscious office, uses primarily the ultrasonic cleaner for teeth cleanings (not sure if that's the right name... It blasts plaque off without a scraping tool)... Anyone have a dentist like that?

I go to Dr. Kearney at Waverly Place. They have the ultrasonic thing, but I believe they only use it if the plaque is very bad. It took me 2 years after moving here to find a dentist & get an appointment so it had been awhile since my last cleaning & they used it on me. They haven't used it tho since I've been going regularly. It was way cool tho because other places would have had me come in for twice for a 2 part cleaning, but they did it all in one visit. Staff is very nice and they file insurance.

I second Dr. Patel - phenomenal dentist! The office is modern/spotless and the staff congenial.

What is this 'blaster' thing? I go to Rich, Smith & Tart and have never been 'blasted'. I was just there 2 weeks ago.

I don't know if I can highly recommend my dentist. Dr. Yankum typically pulls no punches but does fill ins quite well for some of the holes in the stories people tell about him. He is not into ultrasonic blasting but does seem to use a Jack Hammer at times with the occasional blasting cap or two on my mouth. So I can certainly lowly recommend him from my position in his dental chair. I keep telling myself that the next time I need to go to him I need to talk to Dr. Phil Ling to see if he will give some silver lining advise about some rotten service!

Good luck with your search of the best Dentist! Truly yours, T.Ooth Less. HappY MondaY!
