Another Churton Grove resident with kids who are always outside playing...
This neighborhood, as you probably know if you are interested in it, does not have postage stamp size lots...
Most lots are .5 acre and up with lots of trails through the neighborhood that are conducive to biking, running etc. The pool, basketball court and tennis court also get plenty of use and the final phase which is under construction already has a large play field set up suitable for soccer, lacrosse etc...
Another Cary resident here. There are a good number of kids playing out in our neighborhood. I'm right off of Bond park so I'm sure they head that way to hang out. There are a couple groups of kids that like to bike/skateboard and play out in the neighborhood. Many areas in Cary are very very family friendly.
I live on a cul de sac in Durant Trails, and we chose this home because we knew we planned to have children. Now that we do, we are thrilled that it provides a great playspace. The kids are out all the time.
The cul de sac forms a boundary that the kids understand and the makes the parents feel comfortable. It also makes for a great social space for the adults. Many a pit fire party has been held in the center. We believe in the saying, it takes a village, and we all enforce the helmet rules, supply juice boxes, and bandaids as necessary.
Whenever we have a house for sale on the sac and prospective buyers visit, we send the kids out to ride their bikes and make mayhem (aka be kids) because if the buyers don't find that attractive, they won't like it here.

Are there any differences between the phases?
It sounds like the perfect spot for my kids 14, 11, 7. When I visited I LOVED chapel hill but for while the kids are young, it sounds just right.....now to sell this house and find one there that we can afford!!!
