Every time my wife and I return from a visit to new Orleans or Charleston I find myself longing for recipes that require Tasso Ham. I don't ever recall seeing it sold here and was wondering if anyone knew a place to buy it in Raleigh, or preferably Cary.

Thanks!

You might try Trader Joes....they have lots of those kind of hard to find items, and reasonably priced even.

While I don't know where you buy tasso ham, at Papa Mojos in Durham (on Hwy 55) they have rice & tasso cream gravy on their menu. I find it very tastee, but I'm not a cajun expert. That said, I've never been disappointed with the food at Papa Mojos.

Whole Foods definitely has it, at least the one in Chapel Hill. I saw some while I was there this past weekend.

Awesome, thanks to everyone. I'll be making a trip to Whole Food's tomorrow!

Oh and PDX, that is at least one of the things I need the tasso ham for, "Tasso Gravy". Never tried Papa MoJo's but it is on the list of to-do's as well.
