Yes, I can confirm. We had about 5" here in Pfafftown, NW Forsyth County. It is beautiful!. Rural Hall got 6", Lewisville got 5"; Seems west of here, they have more snow - the noon news said Boone has 12".

I didn't have to go out, so this was great. When my husband complained that the internet and cable was knocked out until 11 AM, I reminded him that we had electricity and heat, so stop complaining.

Yeah, it may be snow, but the 6" are already disappearing from that nice warm Southern sun! Never saw a snow plow, but the street through our complex is almost clear. Look at it this way. You'll have a mini winter compared to Shrewsbury, but it will easily take away any vestiges of possible home-sickness for a New Engladn winter.

We had that much but the area just west of Charlotte got slammed. Part of I-85 was closed. I-85 reopens, freeing motorists stuck overnight (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/112/story/571284.html - broken link)

I can confirm about three inches here in Raleigh. I live a couple miles from the airport in NW Raleigh. My driveway and the streets are already clear and mostly dry The bushes and grass are still covered with about 3 inches though. The thing that amazes me is that when it snows here it rarely lasts more than a day, even if you get 3-4 inches.

I was all ready to head out to work today, when low and behold my wife was sick, so I had to stay home with our little man. Oh well, it was nice to get a day off. I cleaned most of the house and even went to the gym. Oh well, back to reality tomorrow I guess

The OP's pics are off a back deck in Woodcroft I'd bet by the look of the topography and pines.

Wake's a big county. I'd suspect that there's a difference between what extreme North and South Wake County received.
