Hi, I work in the Staffing industry, doing IT Sales and Recruiting. I am currently working and living in the Northeast and my wife and I have decided that we would like to move to the Raleigh/Durham/Cary area. We have been there before and find it to be a beautiful place and think it would be a nice area to raise a family.
I am looking to see if anyone could recommend good headhunters in the area. Again, I work in the staffing industry, so if you know any companies that are hiring, I would appreciate any info.
Also, we have been to the area, but are there any neigborhoods or townships that you recommend? School Districts that you recommend? We would be looking at houses around the $300 - $350K area.
However, depending on whether you are a full-desk recruiter or not (sales + recruiting) and based on what you billed the last couple of years, that may affect your situation. If you billed 60k last year then you are going to have a tough time. If you billed 250k last year then I could find you a job here in about 4 hours.
With all the layoffs and hiring freezes, many companies here are laying off their internal recruiters/staffing positions. It's a job not much in demand at the moment.
I can't help you with the job search but can recommend you take a look at Wake Forest. Small town feel only about 20 minutes to Raleigh. Lots of families and many from other areas of the country like yourself.

Not true at all.
CORPORATE recruiters, yes. However, agency recruiters, if you can prove production, are in demand. Agencies NEED to hire producers in a market like this if they want to stay afloat. It's a tough gig, but the good ones can still pull it off.
I'm not real sure about the staffing field and job outlook here, but I can recommend some good schools/areas.
If you're looking into private schools, Cary Christian Academy is great and Ravenscroft (in Raleigh) is fantastic. If you're looking into public schools, I would look in Apex or Cary (which are suburbs of Raleigh). My children attend private schools, however, I've heard (through some neighbors and friends) that Wake County schools have really gone downhill.
As far as areas to live..Wake Forest or Cary is where I would recommend. They both are very family-friendly communities and close enough to Raleigh to where commuting to work wouldn't be a problem.
