This has probably been discussed before, but I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything.
Long Island-area transplantees: What moving company did you use and were you happy with them?
We just went under contract here in Durham and need to get our stuff to Huntington ASAP. Looking for reputable storage as well. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. TIA
we just did the opposite....we came from west Islip, long island and moved to clayton in Jan...
we used the upack....abf.......they drop a 28ft trailer off and you pack it yourself......we used moving laborers to come help load all the furniture and boxes onto the truck and again once when we got here.......
You can look up upack.....or abf moving and they loaders/unloaders I got a referral from Lauren who is always on here posting and she had used them also in Jersey and then in clayton....if I remember it right you can look them up on movinglaborbrokers.com
we had no issues with the loading with broken or damage and the same with the unload an it was a decent price......we would have killed ourselves doing all the work....
you do have to pack and box everything yourself and they will do the rest....
as for storage, there are plenty of self storage places.. dont know any off hand near huntington though.....we were on the south shore
