Does anyone know of a public rock climbing wall in the Triangle. I'd like to find one like the wall at NC State's gym. Does this exist? And, if it does, what are the costs associated with it?

We really Triangle Rock Club in Cary. For outside climbing, there is Pilot Mountain, but that is about an hour away. I hear there are boulders in North Cary Park?

I don't think you'll find many walls like the one at NCSU; that's the only place I've climbed indoors on a wall without bolt-on holds.

I've climbed at Vertical Edge a lot and always enjoy it. I've heard great things about Triangle Rock Club in Cary, but haven't been yet.

Assuming you have your own gear, it'll only cost you around 10 bucks.

Yes, there is a boulder in North Cary Park. You'd have to bring your own gear.

I was looking at the retaining wall behind the old Krogers at Rt55 and High House. You can boulder or drop a rope from the trees above (it's somewhat hidden, I but I don't know if you would be thrown off by the cops if you drop a rope)

Depending on where you live and if you are joining a gym, Lifetime Fitness in Cary (~ 2900 Regency @ Tryon) has one that is nice. Most incredible gym I have ever used. Has everything!

There is also a wall inside the gym at the community center on Estes Drive in Chapel Hill if you are over on that side of the triangle.
