Hello-we recently moved to town and my husband was hit in our Jeep last night by a young man on his cell phone. He hit my husband going about 30 mph. We need to find a mechanic who will work with us as far as our deductible. Does anyone have any recommendations? We live in Cary. Thanks!!

I'm not sure why you would have to pay any deductible if the other driver was at fault since their insurance company should cover any damage done to your Jeep.

Were the Police called to fill out an accident report and what exactly are you asking this mechanic to do for you? Seems like some details are missing in your story perhaps?

Foster's Auto Body is great.

If you were the injured party, the other person's liability will cover it 100%.

If it was the other driver's fault, you shouldn't be paying anything out of pocket? So, I'm not sure what you are asking......

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. The other driver had not filed yet but we had to as it is our only reliable car and we have 4 month old twins so we needed to get a rental through our insurance reimbursement and we weren't sure what would happen with the deductible. Thanks to the one person that gave me a recommendation

Your insurer will normally attempt to recover from the other party after you pay your deductible. This is called subrogation.

If the other insurer pays, your insurer will refund the deductible to you.

Be sure to follow with your insurer to see how it worked out.
