I wish Jaspers was back or a similar diner type place. A NY style diner would be great in that spot. Nice portions, reasonable price and plenty of options is what we need.
I agree, I miss Jaspers...their food was good, and their brunch was awesome too...

I think now they should put something else in that spot besides a restaurant. Completely bad karma for a restaurant that spot is.

Mike J- I tend to agree with you on this. But the Mellow Mushroom site on Glenwood in Raleigh was doomed before the MM arrives. It was a Sizzler in the 70's and multiple names after that. Most locals often laughed at any that tried in that spot.

I vote to bring a Joe's Crab Shack there! That's a place I'd actually eat at, it's fun and they have good cheap food!

Not exactly.
Really just wondering if they don't all blend in after a while, and no one will bother.
I would like to see someone succeed there.

Sizzler...

I think the Mellow Mushroom site is so well located with regard to the resurgence of the area, an operator would have to be nearly suicidal to fail.

Corner of HH and Cary Parkway is a different type of traffic, and that corner seems to be inconvenient for diners who have to select it for a destination, rather than a casual choice.

Actually, we never made it to the Ocean Grill. The reviews on City Data deterred us.

I make it a point to go check out the "new" places on this side of town; I , too, would like to see someone succeed there. As it stands, I'll drive further down Cary Parkway and go to Biaggi's for Chilean Sea Bass.
