Wherever you buy, do a 'net search on the model before hand.
We bought a washer from Sears that only lasted about 3 years before it died. Something called the spider gears was made out of a metal that rusted and broke allowing the tub to swing wildly and smash itself apart. A net search showed Sears knows about the problem and refuses to correct the design or pay for the fix. We had to buy a new one and my wife refuses to buy any more applicances from Sears.
So, research the model and make sure there aren't known problems with it. We could have saved a lot of money and aggravation if we'd done that.
HHGREGG will bargain with you on the spot. Sears is another good one as is Garner TV and appliance. We just bought washer from HHGREGG, 6 mos same as cash and my wife negotiated a better price.....it reminded me of our trips to the Caribbean.
I had issued with HHGregg so I cannot reccommend them but I can tell you that Lowes was aesome. That is where we got our new one from a couple months ago.
FYI..while the new fancy front loaders are very expensive, you should consider them as they are so energy efficient. I can't believe how little water my LG uses and I love the speed washing cycle. It pretty much cleans everything in 20 minutes. They almost make washing clothes a pleasure.
We also had a great experience at Lowes.
