I have and old, broken down Integra sitting in my driveway that I need to get rid of. It has a blown radiator, and even before that, the engine was iffy at best. There are also other problems with it; the antenna doesn't go up and down anymore, the CD player quit working years ago, and in general it looks like crap.
What do I do with this thing? Would I have to pay a junkyard to take it, and if so, how much? Are there organizations that would tow it away if I donated it (and what would those organizations be)? I'm not up on the rules around donating cars these days, do you still get a tax deduction, and if so, how much? Any other suggestions on getting rid of it? I would be able to drive it someplace close to downtown Raleigh, probably about 10 miles or so, even with the blown radiator.
leave it on the side of the highway or even an onramp. apparently that's the thing to do in Raleigh?
seriously, i've never seen so many randomly abandoned cars on major roads. what's the deal?!

The emissions and electronics issues can throw a repairable car into junk status.
I donated it to NPR about a month ago. They work with a company that handles car donations for many charities. All I had to do was call in with my info, then some local transportation company called me back a few days later and told me to leave the keys and signed title in the glove box, and remove the license plate. I wasn't even home when they came to pick it up. It was very convenient. Thanks to whoever posted that link.
They took the car to auction and got $1000 for it. I was surprised anyone would pay that for an old beat up Integra with a blown radiator. I need to send them some more info in order to claim the full $1000 deduction on my taxes; the original paperwork was completed with the assumption that the car wouldn't fetch more than $500, and apparently the gov't requires some form if you're going to claim more than $500.
