Greenwood Acres is a very nice older neighborhood. You can get a lot of house for the money, and on a big yard (typically between 1/2 and 1 acre). There are great walking trails nearby and the new Walnut Street Park at the corner of Walnut & Lawrence is nice as well. Be aware that Walnut Street can get congested at times which might make it difficult to turn left out of the neighborhood. That would be my main concern about that particular neighborhood, so be sure to check out the area traffic during rush hour and on weekends to see if it bothers you.

I suppose my subdivision is considered 'old' since my house was built in 1994. The main things I like about older subdivisions are larger lots and more filled-in landscaping. My lot size is .42 and I couldn't find that size in a newer subdivision. Lot size was particularly important to me since I'm putting in a pool. There's a community pool in my subdivision but I also wanted one in my own backyard. As I believe someone else said, it's not always a matter of which is 'better' but rather what's important to YOU. Don't just buy what the majority of people seem to be buying, buy what's best for your financial situation and lifestyle.
