Hi everyone!

We are considering a move to the Research Triangle area. At the moment, we are searching for companies or universities that are currently doing nanotech research & development, including semiconductors, solar, MEMs, smart energy or any other thin film research. Please note that we are not interested in biomedical applications though.

We have found some companies in the area but would like to ask the locals for more information & advise.

Thank you!

I know of several grad students studying nanomaterials at NCSU. I would venture ALL universities in the US would be working with this technology. I'm coming at nanomaterials from a biological perspective so can't comment on the engineering side of things.

Lots of it in RTP. RTI.org does a lot of this. They just spun off a company called nextreme to market superefficient thermoelectric superlattice film, which initially will be used for circuit cooling - I think that this is going to be HUGE but it might take a while.

You can try calling the research triangle foundation, which is the managing organization for RTP and they can probably refer you to a number of companies engaged in this.

Bumping your own post is against the terms of this message board, I believe...if people have answers, they'll post them; if not, they won't, no matter how impatient you are.
