My recent visitors loved the farmers market, downtown museums, greenway trails, disc golf in Cary/Apex and having real Carolina BBQ at the Backyard BBQ Pit in Durham

City Plaza is a public Square being built on a section of Fayetteville St. downtown. It's intention is to be a public living room for the city. It's located just to the North of the new Marriott next to the BB&T Tower and will offer the city another outdoor venue for bring people together casually and for events. See this link for more details. http://www.raleighnc.gov/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_2_114693_0_0_18/City_Plaza_Presentation07-01-08.pdf (broken link)

It's a great idea! You should add this to the list on the town squares post. Thanks!

Raleigh: a great place to live, but I wouldn't want to visit there.

The really cool historic house almost across the street from the Gov's mansion. Plus a walk around that neighborhood in general is awesome.
