Is there a main Social Security office in Durham? I am trying to figure out where it might be located. DH may accept a job there and I am trying to look at where we might live. We would like to find a nice area where we could buy a house for $200K or less, with a reasonable commute~30 min, and good schools.

Thanks for any info!

Just look it up at the SSA website:

https://secure.ssa.gov/apps6z/FOLO/Controller

As for houses, there are plenty in that area in your price range.

The SSA has a brand new facility off Hopson Road in Durham. This is not a general public facility but it is a support facility for the SSA itself.
