Thanks sooo much for posting this info. I only wish I would have read it earlier. I'm pretty new to Raleigh & want to take advantage of all of the cool offerings. I would love to see info like this posted every week. What websites would you suggest for findings events in the area???

I can't think of any one source of info. I check out multiple places weekly to keep tabs on what is going on (but I still miss a lot). Actually, I learn about a lot of events on this forum.

I pick up a free copy of the Independent Weekly newspaper and look for event announcements. They also have a section that lists "special events".

Here are some other suggestions:

Not weekly, but at the top of this forum listing is a monthly goings-on thread, "Stickied" by the moderator. That's for more major happenings, but The Independent Weekly (free news/entertainment newspaper available all over the triangle in racks outside stores, gyms, etc) has generally been considered the most comprehensive source, at least for arts things. Get yourself on email lists for things like sports teams, theatres, and other "periodic" happenings that you might forget about until it's too late--everybody does email marketing now.
