Not trying to high-jack this excellent thread, but it has gotten me hungry and breakfast is my favorite meal!

Any other good breakfast suggestions for Durham area?

Stay away from the Flying Biscuit. I've been there three times. The first time it was great, the second time the food was great but the service was poor, the third time however was the real winner.

We had some snotty tattooed girl from the bar confirm our order to us three times, then completely screw up the entire thing, drop by once to see how we're doing, and she was also rude to an elderly couple. She was definitely not from around here and had the manners to prove it.

Hmm... I wonder where she was from???

Gee, and here I thinking that manners was more indicative of how well you were taught, not where you are from.

Perkins on 64 in Apex has the best breakfast.

Are you talking about me or you thinking you know where someone is from based on their manners?

And thank you to all those who have recommended The Flying Biscuit. I'll be trying it on Sunday.

Finch's recently got a terrible sanitation inspection with rats and roaches found in the kitchen, it was in the N&O.

Flying biscuit is OK but people hype it like its the best thing ever, it is not. The cheese grits are indeed fabulous though.

Big Ed's is definitely the best for a country breakfast although their quality seems to be declining lately also.

^Yeah, I used to enjoy Finch's a few years ago but have noticed the food and cleanliness has been going down hill. The last time I ate there was about a year ago for lunch and I was sick as heck until the following day.
