Hey CDers,

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where we could throw a wedding party for a friend. I was thinking something wine themed but any 'classy' option would do. La Residence came to mind initially. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!
Matt

You could talk to the folks at Glasshalfull in Carrboro. It's an attractive restaurant that serves tapas styles dishes and has a great wine selection.

What do you mean by a "wedding party?" A wedding reception? A pre-wedding party?

How many people?

Great question. I am not exactly sure. This is just a 'pre-party' for a classmate. Our MBA class is only 57 people, and I don't expect more than 20 or so coming to the event.

Thanks for the questions!

A few suggestions:

Wine themed:

West End Wine Bar
Bin 54
411 West

Generally nice:
Fearrington Village (various places) in Pittsboro
Sienna Hotel

La Res is classy? All I remember of that place from visiting friends down here when I was in college in Virginia was banging out Jager shots and raising all kinds of ridiculous hell. Went to a wedding at Fearrington...that was pretty dern classy.

Fearrington is quite pricey, depending on your standards. I looked at having my own wedding there, and basically minimum was $10-15K+

How about the Carolina Inn? I've photographed weddings there. Very, very nice place.

The Weathervane is a great choice if you want to do a wine-themed party. You can make a selection of wines to be served and foods to complement them.

Provence in Carrboro came to mind when you mentioned wine. Not sure if they do wedding parties or not but it might be worth checking. Provence Regional Cuisine - Carrboro, North Carolina
