I am looking for house in NC and almost all of them have septic tanks, I would like to know what nice areas have city water/sewer. Also are there affortable over 55 new developments? Thank you.

You might want to narrow it down a little bit. That's like asking where to find a place that sells bbq in NC. There are a lot of nice areas that have city or county water and sewer, but we have no idea what part of the state you're looking at.

Areas within the city (Raleigh, Durham, Cary, etc.) limits will typically have city water/sewer. Areas outside the city limits will typically use community or private well and community or private septic systems. If you want to avoid well/septic systems, then buy within a city. If you want to narrow down your search a bit, we need to know a little bit more about where you want to work and live.

150,000--$225,000 will get you into a lot of Wake County locations, in town, with city water and sewer.
Apex, Cary, Morrisville, Raleigh, Holly Springs, Fuquay Varina, Garner, and others offer some homes in that price range.

You can get into a new patio home at Carolina Preserve, the Pulte/Del Webb community this fall, even below $200,000.
However, the HOA dues are high, to support the services and the available amenities.

Single Family Detached home resales start just a little higher, in the $230,000's.

City Water/Sewer is pretty easily searchable on the websites and by a Realtor.
