That's great. Kids get some Wednesday off just because it happens to be the day before a national holiday, but now the kids don't get off an actual observed holiday to remember those who died while fighting for our freedoms. Way to go, WCPSS!

And just how many people celebrate the day as anything more then a day off work anymore?

Parents were pulling their kids out of school the day before Thanksgiving in record numbers to get an extra travel day. They had to do something about that.

I wish they had gone to a 1/2 day on that Wednesday to preserve Memorial Day.

I would venture a guess that far more people will be pulling their kids out on Monday.
