I took a little detour on my normal walking path near the Tradition at StoneWater Apartment Complex and a couple of new subdivisions and saw signs re: the future home of Bloom. I found a couple of post on here about Bloom and although it would not be my supermarket of choice I could walk to it from where I live if I wanted to....ground has not even broken so who knows when it would actually hopen

Actually, it looks to me like the ground has been broken since at least last November. Are you talking about the site along Holly Springs Road? I noticed this weekend that the sign has come down, though, so I wonder if Bloom has pulled out.

No this is another location in Cary but not too far off 55 near Vista at the Park and Tradition at Stonewater Apartments. These signs are new.

Those signs have been there for at least 6+ months. Last I heard the developer won't break ground until late 2009 at the earliest. I'm sure the economy changed their plans late last year.

Is Bloom similar to Aldi's or Trader Joes?

It's an upscale Food Lion (is that like "jumbo shrimp")?

It is indeed an upscale Food Lion but they will both have the same prices.

Default Bloom ground clearing has started

For the past couple of weeks.. the trucks have been at the Bloom site on O' Kelley Chapel and alston to clear out the place.. On their facebook account they've mentioned end 2009 or early 2010 opening of Bloom. I wouldn't mind having some activity around here.. and hopefully a coffee shop to walk out to..

I noticed the Bloom that was planned to go up off Davis Drive and Morrisville Carpt. Rd is now a Food Lion. Also, the Bloom that was posted to be build at Strickland and Ray in Raleigh is now a Food Lion as well. I was wondering what is going to happen at O'Kelly Chapel and Green Level to Durham!

All Blloms that were slated for this area have been made to Food Lions. The one on Holly Springs Rd and 1010 also has been swithced to Food Lion. They bagged the Bloom idea with the Economy
