Hopewell is a new school in Cary, about 2 years old. Started as a high school and now is Grades 4-12. Their first graduating class is not until next year. They have a pretty good high school science program and a new middle school. They started a varsity basketball team this year and had a great first year--coach is from Penn with a couple of stand-out players. Everyone gets a chance to play.

I'd check it out if you were looking for small class sizes.

Thank you for your reply. I looked into the school at their open house. It is a very small school still 33 students! Sadly for us with 3 kids their $11,800.00 tuition per year plus $1000.00 madatory donation per student is more than we want to spend (rather put that in a college fund). Close to $36K in tuition fees

This is a dumb question, but is Hopewell Academy a specialized school or is it a general school for anyone to attend? I mentioned it to someone once and they thought it was a school that specialized in working with ADHD students. Is that true? I looked on the website and didn't see anything about it.

I know that the flecher academy (used to be the achievement school) is a school that specializes in teaching for kids with learning disabilities and or attention deficient disorder.

Hopewell is one of the few general schools that also will consider students with add or some other learning issues (usually those that are minor ).

With 3 kids I would ask for a break on the tuition...bet they would do it...

That is with the break on the tuition. The break is $200.00 per child.

They cater to all children and specialize in ADHD and advanced placement accelerated courses.

Why? Is there a reason you would not recomend it? I've only spoken to one parent whose child goes there, but they seem to really think it's worth it for their child.
