How early do we need to get to the amphitheatre to ensure we get a good lawn seat on July 4th? I don't need front row seating but it would be nice to be in front of the stage.

Gates open at 3pm. Are people standing in line waiting for the gates to open? Is there a mad rush for the lawn or do people gradually arrive?

Thanks for any insight you might have!!

I'm not really sure how early is too early, but if you are driving you should find out for sure because the Regency/Koka parking lot is open only to employees until 6pm, then it opens to the public.

We got there right when it opened to do the Family Fun Zone or whatever it's called. I wouldn't come any early than opening time. By the time we did the Family Fun Zone & wandered around a bit we found a spot around Symphony Lake to spread out a blanket/chairs. It was really cool actually to see people camping out! LOL. Families brought camping tables and coolers and were reading books, playing cards or board games to pass the time. We had a kid with us and were no where near as prepared. We left at 6pm. There just wasn't enough there to keep us entertained & we weren't prepared. By 6pm people had spread out tarps and such and there wasn't much space left for a viewing around symphony lake.

Don't worry, you didn't miss much. We got there early and spent hours there waiting for the main event. Then with just minutes to go, there was a huge, ominous cloud, then the lightning, then buckets of rain. I guess Mother Nature wanted to upstage our fireworks! At least we got to enjoy the music.

Oh! I went 2 years ago not last year. LOL. We were at our undisclosed location waiting for the fireworks & no where near those crowds. So we just hoped in the car and went home.
